Good Morning St Joseph Families,

This is an unprecedented time for us as a staff, as a school, as a board and as a province. There is a great deal to consider as we try to move to teacher-led distance learning for the foreseeable future. This two-week period is about “gearing up” and preparing for what may lie ahead.

We acknowledge that it will not be “business as usual” but we are hopeful to continue with curriculum delivery after ensuring that all students have the resources necessary.

Classroom Teachers will be in contact with families over the next few days to check in over the phone, through email or by asking for responses to posts over Google Classroom/D2L. Teachers will be asking families to respond to a series of questions so the board can use the information for their plans moving ahead with distance learning.

This two-week period will be about trying to determine what needs exist in our community for either a learning device in a home and/or there is an absence of internet. The board is working on options.

At the end of the two weeks we will have a more formal understanding of the expectations for teacher led distance learning and assessment.

These extraordinary times will require extraordinary measures from us and we are confident we will be able to rise to the challenge.

God Bless, Be Safe and Stay Healthy.
