Dear Parents and Guardians,
A copy of the School Board letter regarding the current Labour Action was posted on Newswire earlier this week. A copy of that same letter is being sent home to families today. Below you will find an announcement that was made to the entire student body this afternoon prior to dismissal. As a staff we felt that it was important to provide you with a copy of the message so that you may be able to answer any of their questions regarding the pending job action.
“Some of you may have already heard from your families or friends or from the news that there is a possibility of a strike affecting our school, beginning on Monday morning. If there is a strike, it means that some of our school staff will not be coming to work. We hope and pray that this will not happen – but if it does, it means our school will have to close until the strike is over, and you will not be able to come to school. We are doing our best to make sure your families have as much information about this situation as possible. They can keep up to date by visiting the school board’s website. If our school does have to close on Monday we hope it will only be closed for a short time and we can all be back together in our classrooms soon.”
If there is a strike, please do not hesitate to contact the school on Monday should you have any questions. You can also view the Board’s Labour Updates page for the most up-to date information. We will do our best to keep you informed through Newswire and Twitter as well.
